ABOUT JASON
Jason Buitrago has built a distinguished career in higher education, driven by a "can-do" attitude and a passion for relationship-building. After 16 years at the University of Rochester, where he discovered his interest in enrollment management, the Brooklyn native brought his expertise to Cleveland in 2019, joining Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. At CWRU, he has become known as an inclusive and thoughtful leader, spearheading recruitment for various programs and even launching the university's chapter of the Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science. His commitment to empowering students and fostering connections is evident in his work, and his recent recognition as one of the "100+ Latinos Cleveland Must Know" and “Crain’s 40 Under 40” underscores his impactful presence within the Cleveland community. Buitrago's dedication to helping prospective students and prospective Cleveland residents find their path, regardless of where it leads, showcases his deep commitment to both his profession and his adopted city.
